Breed Them Early

The fastest way to get powerful Pals. Unlock the Breeding Farm at Technology Level 19 and use these exact parent combinations:

  • Penking + Bushi = Anubis
  • Mossanda + Woolipop = Relaxaurus
  • Specific combos for Grizzbolt

Use the Breeding Chain Planner to find the shortest path from whatever Pals you currently own.

🎯

Catch Them in the Wild

Some starter Pals can be caught directly. Bring Pal Spheres and target these locations:

  • Penking — near frozen lakes in starting biome
  • Mossanda — forest areas, early accessible
  • Bushi — volcanic region (mid‑game)

For exact spawn points, check the Palworld Interactive Map with live locations.

Use Chain Breeding

Can't catch the parents directly? Chain breed them from common Pals you already have. The process works like this:

  • Start with Lamball, Cattiva, or Chikipi
  • Breed them into intermediate Pals
  • Use intermediates to reach your target

Our Breeding Chain Planner automates this — just pick your goal Pal and it shows every step.

Anubis. No question. Here's why it's the #1 breeding priority for new players:

  • Handiwork Lv4 — the highest in the game, speeds up all crafting and building
  • Strong combat stats — viable fighter through mid‑game
  • Easy to breed — Penking + Bushi is achievable by Level 19
  • Key breeding parent — used in chains to reach even stronger Pals

Use our How to Breed Anubis guide for the exact step‑by‑step.

Before you unlock the Breeding Farm, focus on catching these wild Pals:

  • Foxparks — excellent early Fire damage and a key breeding parent later
  • Eikthyrdeer — fast mount, good combat, and used in Anubis breeding chains
  • Pengullet / Penking — Water coverage and base watering tasks
  • Lamball / Cattiva — keep a male and female for future breeding

Once you hit Level 19, immediately build a Breeding Farm and start working toward Anubis using our Breeding Chain Planner.

Cake is the fuel for every breeding attempt. To craft it, you need:

  • Flour — made from Wheat at a Mill
  • Red Berries — gathered from bushes everywhere
  • Milk — assign Mozzarina to a Ranch
  • Eggs — assign Chikipi to a Ranch
  • Honey — assign Beegarde to a Ranch, or gather from Cinnamoth

Build a Ranch early and assign Mozzarina + Chikipi to passively generate Milk and Eggs. Read our Cake Farming Guide for the most efficient setup.

Save your best passives for A‑Tier and above. Here's the smart approach:

  • Don't waste rare passives like Legend, Ferocious, or Swift on C/D‑Tier Pals
  • It's fine to put common passives on early Pals — they'll be replaced quickly
  • Once you breed Anubis, start your Passive Skill Stacking strategy
  • Aim for Legend + Ferocious + Musclehead + Swift on your main combat Pal

Check our Passive Skills Tier List to know which passives are worth chasing.

This page focuses specifically on early‑game Pals — ones you can realistically obtain in your first 5–10 hours. The main Palworld Tier List 2026 ranks every Pal in the game including end‑game Legendaries.

Use this page if: you're new, under Level 25, and want a fast power spike

Use the full Tier List if: you're planning end‑game teams, breeding Legendaries, or optimizing for specific roles

Both pages are updated for Palworld patch 0.4.x and share the same ranking methodology.

Not directly — you need a breeding chain. S‑Tier Pals like Jetragon, Frostallion, and Shadowbeak have very low Power Values. You can't breed two common Pals and get them in one step.

The path looks like this:

  • Start with common Pals (Lamball, Cattiva, Foxparks)
  • Breed into mid‑tier Pals (Anubis, Grizzbolt)
  • Use those to reach Epic Pals (Blazamut, Orserk)
  • Finally breed Epics together for Legendaries

Our Breeding Chain Planner maps every step automatically. Read How to Breed Legendary Pals for detailed chains.
